Hilary Phillips Wigley is a 2009 graduate and stand-out softball player at Ider High School. She led Ider to 2-A state titles in 2006, 2008, and 2009 and was named State Tournament MVP all three years. She also made the Alabama Sports Writers Association 10-player super team each year from 2006-2009.
She was named Class 2-A Player of the Year her junior year and finished her high school career as the state’s all-time career leader in wins (197), shutouts (94), and strikeouts (2436). She was also top in winning percentage with a 30-0 record in 2008.
Wigley earned many state records, including fourth in perfect games and career innings pitched, eighth in single season ERA, second in no-hitters, and tenth for single-season strikeouts in 2008.
After high school, Wigley played four years on the Jacksonville State University softball team.
