Graduated from Crossville High School in 1944 and Auburn University in 1948. Served as head trainer at Auburn until 1975, and then Assistant Athletic Director. Served as trainer for the Blue-Gray Football All-Star Game and Senior Bowl for more than a decade. Served as trainer for the 1952 and 1976 U.S. Olympic Teams. Later served as Director of the Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation.
